Choose how many paragraphs you need and generate placeholder text for a mock-up, template or design draft.
How to use it
- Set the number of paragraphs.
- Choose whether the first sentence should be the classic "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…".
- Press Generate, then copy the text.
Good to know
- The text is generated in your browser each time, so two people pressing Generate get different filler.
- Lorem Ipsum is scrambled Latin used as filler. It has no meaning, which is the point: attention stays on the layout.

Frequently asked questions
Why use Lorem Ipsum instead of real text?
Filler text stops readers being distracted by the words, so a design can be judged on its layout.
Can I generate a single word or heading?
This generator produces paragraphs. For a short string, generate one paragraph and take the first sentence.
